World Motorcycle Day

Not only is 21st June World Music Day and World Yoga Day, but it’s also (more importantly) World Motorcycle Day! Celebrated every year, World Motorcycle Day brings the biking community together to appreciate the freedom and adventures that motorbikes bring us.

 

Motorcycles continue to be one of the most popular forms of transportation across the world, but which brand takes the top spot in each country? Well, that’s what you’re about to find out… we’ve used search data to determine some of the world’s favourite motorcycle brands!

 

HONDA - UNITED KINGDOM

 

Like almost half of the world, including Japan (maybe obvious) and the USA, the Japanese manufacturer looks to be the favourite in the UK, with an average monthly search volume of 90,500! Have you got a Honda motorcycle in your garage?

 

BMW - GERMANY

 

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree here – like the car industry, BMW seems to dominate when it comes to motorbikes in Germany as well - the average monthly searches being in or around 49,000. We can’t deny that BMW’s S1000RR would be the perfect match for the de-restricted sections of the autobahn!!

 

DUCATI - ITALY

 

When you think Italy, you think style, and when you think style, you think Ducati, so it makes sense that the front-runner is exactly that. The Italian born and bred Ducati brand has an average monthly search of 144,000 in its homeland of Italy.

 

BMW S1000RRBMW S1000RR

YAMAHA - FRANCE

 

France seems to have a real soft spot for Yamaha – the Japanese brand sold 18.39% of the overall new motorcycles in France in 2019! This domination is backed up by a hefty average monthly search volume of over 200,000.

 

ROYAL ENFIELD - INDIA

 

In one of the largest motorcycle markets in the world, Royal Enfield is the leader with a whopping 823,000 average monthly searches in India!! The love between India and Royal Enfield began when the British brand moved its manufacturing to India during the Commonwealth.
